Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several national and international issues through a series of posts on her official Twitter account.
On October 9, 2025, Scholten questioned the actions of the current administration in a strongly worded statement: "Her denial and deflection are the biggest tell — this Administration is hiding something, and the American people deserve to know what it is. Why are they protecting a pedophile when they should be protecting the American people?"
The following day, October 10, 2025, Scholten commented on ongoing developments in the Middle East, expressing cautious optimism about a new agreement: "After two years of tragedy and war, I am hopeful and praying that this ceasefire deal brings immediate relief and lasting peace to Israelis and Palestinians."
Later on October 10, Scholten turned her attention to domestic economic policy and manufacturing. She highlighted her legislative efforts for industry in her district: "This IS indeed a big deal for our West Michigan-based manufacturers — an even BIGGER deal would be to federalize this policy. That’s why I introduced my bipartisan bill, the Paving The Way For American Industry Act, to ensure that critical infrastructure materials are made"
Scholten has represented Michigan’s 3rd district since 2023 after succeeding Peter Meijer. She was born in Grand Rapids in 1982 and continues to reside there. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Gordon College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
