Ferris State University senior Kamryn Shannon has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Golf Player of the Week.
Shannon secured individual medalist honors at the Beall Fall Classic, which took place at Findlay Country Club in Ohio from October 6-7. The Ferris State Bulldogs finished fifth in the team standings at the event. Shannon completed 54 holes with a two-over-par score.
She recorded a 72 in the first round, followed by a 70 in the second and a 76 in the third. Shannon tied for first place with Ashleigh Duflo of Findlay. The tournament winner was decided in a six-hole playoff. Both players made par on each of the first five holes. On the sixth hole, which was hole number eight on the course, "Shannon got up and down from just short of the green for par and Duflo three-putted from 30 feet."
In addition to her tournament victory, Shannon received All-Tournament team honors.
