Shannon wins individual medalist honors as Ferris State finishes fifth at Beall Fall Classic

Ferris State University's women's golf team secured a fifth-place finish at the Beall Fall Classic, held at the Findlay Country Club in Ohio. The event, which concluded on Tuesday, featured 17 teams competing over three rounds.

The Bulldogs posted a combined team score of 925, with individual round scores of 308, 316, and 301. Senior Kamryn Shannon led the team, finishing as the individual medalist at two-over par across 54 holes. Shannon recorded scores of 72, 70, and 76 in the three rounds. She tied for first place with Ashleigh Duflo from Findlay and secured the tournament win after a six-hole playoff.

In the playoff, both players made par on the first five holes. On the sixth hole, Shannon made par after getting up and down from just short of the green, while Duflo three-putted from 30 feet. With this result, Shannon also earned All-Tournament team honors.

Other notable performances for Ferris State included Taylor Musselman, who tied for 29th with a total score of 235 (78-80-77), and Ashley Thomasma, who tied for 31st at 236 (82-84-70). Lizzie Anderson shared 37th place with a score of 238 (76-84-78), while Kylie Walker tied for 50th at 242 (82-82-78). Paige Anderson competed as an individual and finished tied for 80th with a total score of 259 (87-84-88).

The Bulldogs are set to complete their fall season at the Saint Leo Invitational in Dade City, Florida, scheduled for October 20-21.
