Ferris State University's women's golf team secured a second-place finish at the Bulldog Fall Classic, which concluded on Sunday at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids. The Bulldogs recorded a total score of 603 over the two-day, 36-hole event, finishing with a +27. On Saturday, the team posted a score of 300 and followed up with a 303 on Sunday.
Grand Valley State University took first place with a team score of 583. Thirteen schools from across the conference and region participated in the tournament. Lea Stotz from Grand Valley State was the individual medalist, posting a total score of 140.
Taylor Musselman led Ferris State individually by tying for fifth place overall with scores of 74 and 75 for a total of 149. Kamryn Shannon tied for ninth after shooting an opening round of 72 and an 80 in the final round to finish at 152.
Ashley Thomasma finished tied for thirteenth place, carding rounds of 77 and 76 for a total score of 153. Lizzie Anderson and Kylie Walker both tied for seventeenth place at 155; Anderson shot rounds of 77 and 78 while Walker improved from an opening-round 81 to shoot a team-best final round of 74 on Sunday.
Isabel Kelly competed as an individual entry for Ferris State and tied for thirty-fifth with scores of 79 and 82 (161). Paige Anderson also played as an individual, tying for forty-fourth after shooting rounds of 82 and then improving to an even-par-80 (162).
Morgan Seog finished in fifty-sixth place as an individual competitor, scoring rounds of 81 and then slipping to an eighty-five (166). Katelyn Walker rounded out Ferris State's entries by tying for sixty-ninth place with scores of eighty-nine followed by eighty-seven (176).
The Bulldogs are scheduled to compete next at the Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite hosted by Grand Valley State University at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale on Monday.
