The Ferris State University women's golf team is in second place after the first round of the Bulldog Fall Classic, held at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Michigan. The Bulldogs posted a team score of 300 on Saturday, just two strokes behind Grand Valley State University, which leads with a 298.
Thirteen schools from the region are participating in this two-day event hosted by Ferris State. Senior Kamryn Shannon led the Bulldogs with an even-par 72, placing her third individually. She trails only Lea Stotz of Grand Valley State and Alexandria LeCureaux of Gannon University, who both shot rounds of 70.
Taylor Musselman contributed a score of 74 for Ferris State and is tied for fifth place overall. Ashley Thomasma and Lizzie Anderson each recorded scores of 77, tying them for eighth place after day one. Kylie Walker finished the round with an 81 and is tied for 34th position.
Several Ferris State golfers competed as individuals. Isabel Kelly shot a 79 to share 24th place. Morgan Seog also scored an 81 to tie for 34th, while Paige Anderson carded an 82 and is tied for 44th place. Katelyn Walker completed her round with an 89, putting her in a tie for 72nd.
