Ferris State men’s golf stands third after first day at UIndy Fall Invite

The Ferris State University men's golf team is in third place after the first day of play at the University of Indianapolis Invitational, held at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis. The opening round saw the Bulldogs finish five-under par with a score of 285. Play was suspended during the second round due to darkness following a rain delay earlier in the day; Ferris State had reached a total of 225 for round two before play stopped.

Grand Valley State leads after day one, with Hillsdale in second place ahead of Ferris State. Fourteen teams are participating in the tournament.

Ethan Frost led Ferris State individually, finishing fourth overall at eight-under par. Sam Havey ended the day tied for 20th at even par, while Kole Putnam was tied for 27th at one-over par. Ben Miller finished tied for 33rd at two-over par, and Ray Dress was tied for 73rd at ten-over par. Peter Roehl competed as an individual and stood in 81st place at fourteen-over par.

Teams will resume and complete their second round on Tuesday morning beginning at 8:45 a.m., followed by the final round of the event. Live scoring and full results are available online (https://scoreboard.clippd.com/tournaments/239259/scoring/team).
