Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several issues on her official Twitter account, ranging from community health funding to workforce equity and messages of support for the Jewish community.
On September 22, 2025, Scholten expressed appreciation for local healthcare leaders, stating, "I’m grateful to be working with the @michpca and community health leaders from West Michigan. These centers care for more than 94k of our neighbors — and they need Congress to act on funding to stay afloat. I am proud to be part of this fight alongside them."
Later that day, she highlighted concerns about women leaving the workforce and called for federal action: "I’m proud to stand with my @DemWomenCaucus colleagues to call on @USDOL to investigate the alarming exit of women from the workforce and lead with solutions. We can’t wait. Our economy, our families, and our future depend on it. #WorkforceEquity"
In a separate post acknowledging Rosh Hashanah amid rising challenges for Jewish communities worldwide, Scholten wrote: "Shanah Tovah! In the midst of increasingly difficult times for the Jewish community in America and around the world, may this season of renewal bring you and your family peace, happiness, and good health." Scholten has served as U.S. Representative since replacing Peter Meijer in 2023. She was born in Grand Rapids in 1982 and continues to reside there. Her educational background includes a BA from Gordon College (2004) and a JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore (2011).
