Ferris State men's golf places fourth at NCAA regional preview at Katke Golf Course

Ferris State University's men's golf team finished fourth at the 2025 NCAA Midwest/Central Regional Preview, which took place at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Michigan. The event concluded on Tuesday after three rounds of play, with a total of 19 teams competing.

The Bulldogs posted an overall team score of 882 across the tournament's three rounds. They recorded scores of 296 in both the first and second rounds and improved to a 290 in the final round. This last-round performance was the best among all participating teams.

A second Ferris State squad also competed as a "B" team, finishing tied for ninth place with a combined score of 897. Their round-by-round results were 301, 293, and 303.

Rockhurst University won the team championship with an overall score of 864. Gannon University placed second at 879, while Ashland University finished third with an 881, just ahead of Ferris State.

The regional preview served as preparation for next year's NCAA Division II Super Regional Championship, which will also be held at Katke Golf Course in May.

Individually, Mark Pillar from Ashland and Rasmus Seppanen from Gannon shared medalist honors after tying for first place with scores of 212 over three rounds.

Peter Roehl led Ferris State by tying for twelfth place individually with scores of 69, 75, and 76 for a total of 220. Ben Miller tied for fourteenth (221), while Brian Tillman paced the "B" team in seventeenth (222). Ethan Frost and Ray Dress each finished tied for twenty-third (223).

The Bulldogs are scheduled to compete next at the University of Indianapolis Fall Invitational on September 22-23.
