Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted her ongoing community and legislative efforts through a series of social media posts.
On September 14, 2025, Scholten recognized the contributions of a local organization by stating, "For decades, the Grand Rapids Chapter of the National Black Nurses Association has played an important role in educating and caring for our neighbors throughout West Michigan. Later that day, she commented on housing developments in her district: "So proud to see the affordable housing project reach completion in the Alger Heights neighborhood! I was proud to secure a grant that supported the project, and I look forward to seeing our affordable housing options continue to expand in West Michigan.

Scholten has served as Michigan’s 3rd District representative since replacing Peter Meijer in 2023. She was born and currently resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Scholten holds degrees from Gordon College and the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
