Ferris State men’s golf opens regional preview with two teams in top seven

Ferris State University’s men’s golf team began play at the 2025 Midwest/Central Regional Preview on Monday at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Michigan. The tournament is being held as a preliminary event for the NCAA Super Regional, which Ferris State will host next spring.

Monday’s competition was delayed by morning fog and play was halted due to darkness late in the day. The second round is scheduled to resume Tuesday morning at 9 a.m., with the final round following after the completion of round two in this 54-hole event.

Currently, Ferris State's "B" team stands in sixth place at +21 overall, while their other squad is one shot behind in seventh place at +22. Nineteen teams are participating in the tournament. Rockhurst leads with a score of +3, followed by Ashland and Gannon tied for second at +14 each. Davenport holds fourth place (+16), and Tiffin is fifth (+19).

On the individual leaderboard, Giovanni Delorenzi from Gannon leads at -3. FSU’s Ray Dress follows in second at -2, and Mark Pillar of Ashland is third at -1. Ferris State's Peter Roehl is tied for fourth (even), while Ethan Frost shares 24th place at +6.
