Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on September 11, 2025, addressing permitting reform and gender pay equity.

In her first post at 18:27 UTC, Scholten directed readers to additional information with the message: "Read more here. https://t.co/kxsyZSkgsb".

Later that evening at 21:28 UTC, she expressed her willingness to collaborate across party lines on environmental and infrastructure policy. She wrote: "Let me be clear: I’m ready to work with anyone to enact real permitting reform that both expedites decisions AND safeguards our waters.

@TransportDems are ready to make it happen. https://t.co/PHcZYFalAb".

At 23:57 UTC, Scholten addressed economic issues facing women in the workforce and called for fair negotiations for women athletes. She stated: "At a time when the gender wage gap is widening and women are rapidly leaving the workforce, let’s set the record straight.

Women workers deserve fair pay, including women athletes.

I sent a letter with @DemWomenCaucus colleagues urging the WNBA to negotiate fairly with players https://t.co/Z0WGIAogpq".

Scholten has served as Michigan’s 3rd District representative since replacing Peter Meijer in 2023. Born in Grand Rapids in 1982, she continues to reside there today. Her academic background includes a BA from Gordon College and a JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
