Ferris State University has announced that the third annual women's basketball and softball golf outing, scheduled for August 8 at Katke Golf Course on campus, is officially sold out. The event aims to raise funds for both the women's basketball and softball programs.

This marks the third sellout of the summer for Ferris State athletics, following similar outcomes for the football and hockey golf outings. Each event reached full capacity.

The women's basketball team recently earned its third NCAA Tournament appearance in four years during the 2024-25 season. In the previous season, the team advanced to the NCAA Division II National Semifinals, finishing with a 21-12 record and securing its eighth national tournament bid in school history. The Bulldogs were also runners-up in the GLIAC Tournament last season.

The softball program made significant progress as well, reaching the NCAA Tournament this past spring for the first time since 2013. The team achieved 28 wins during the season, marking its highest total in ten years and ending a twelve-year absence from NCAA postseason play.

"The event takes place at Katke Golf Course on the FSU campus and proceeds will go to support both the women's basketball and softball programs in the joint event."

"The sellout represents the third of the summer for the Bulldogs, who have also previously sold out the football and hockey golf events with a capacity field reached for each outing."

The Bulldogs closed this past year with a 21-12 overall record and made their eighth national tournament bid in school history. FSU also was the GLIAC Tournament runner-up this past season."

"Meanwhile, the Bulldog Softball program reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013 this past spring. The Bulldogs' 28 wins this past year represented the program's most in a decade and FSU advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 12 years."
