The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) has announced its 2025 NCAA Division II Award recipients, selecting Ferris State's Hallie Crozier for the Kim Moore Spirit Award.
In October, Hallie experienced a severe headache after a team workout, leading to an emergency craniectomy. It was discovered that she had been born with a tangle of blood vessels in her brain, which had burst. Although the surgery saved her life, she faces a lengthy recovery process.
Currently undergoing cognitive and physical rehabilitation, Hallie is working to regain basic functions and rewire her brain. Her perseverance has inspired the Bulldogs, who advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championships this spring for the first time in 16 years.
Throughout the 2024-25 academic year, Bulldog student-athletes and teams have rallied around Crozier. Last fall, FSU teams wore helmet and jersey stickers with her initials and distributed wristbands with #HallieStrong to show their support.
The WGCA, established in 1983 as a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches, aims to promote college golf for women alongside educational objectives and intercollegiate competition traditions. The association now represents over 750 coaches across the U.S., focusing on educating and recognizing both its members and student-athletes.
Under head coach Sam Stark's leadership this past season, the Bulldog women's golf team achieved runner-up status at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships. They also finished among the top five teams at the NCAA East Regional Championships, securing their place at the D2 National Championships for the first time since 2009.
