Ferris State University has announced the selection of ten alumni for induction into the Bulldog Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2025. The group, representing nine different sports programs, will be honored in a ceremony this fall.
The inductees include Chad Billins (Hockey), Karla (Fairbanks) Griffin (Volleyball), Rachel (Folcik) McClure (Women's Basketball), Dan Hutcheson (Wrestling), Justin Keenan (Men's Basketball), Alan Morin (Men's Golf), Tina Muir (Women's Track & Field/Cross Country), Jeff Pierce (Football Athlete & Coach), Rex Schuberg (Men's Track & Field, Benefactor) and Justin Zimmer (Football).
The induction event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 27 at Jim Wink Arena on the Ferris State campus. A reception will begin at 5 p.m., followed by dinner and the induction ceremony.
"This class includes many of the school's all-time greats and is an outstanding group that has achieved at the highest level," said FSU Athletics Director Steve Brockelbank. "They are very deserving of the recognition and we look forward to honoring these talented individuals this fall."
The selection committee, consisting of faculty, staff, alumni, and community members, chose these inductees from a large pool of nominees. This year's class adds to a list that already includes 115 previous individual inductees along with one team.
Each nominee must have been away from Ferris State University for at least ten years and must have earned varsity letters while demonstrating exemplary athletic performance. Additional considerations include contributions to Ferris State Athletics after leaving or exceptional service to its program.
The Hall of Fame was established in 2000 to honor those who have made significant contributions to athletics as student-athletes or coaches.
Details regarding ticketing and sponsorship opportunities for the banquet will be released soon. The event precedes Ferris State's football home opener against Pittsburg State on August 28.
