Ferris State women's tennis ends season with loss in NCAA tournament

The Ferris State University women's tennis team concluded its season with a loss in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament. The Bulldogs were defeated by Tiffin with a 4-1 score on Monday, May 12, in Detroit.

Tiffin secured the doubles point and went on to win three of the first four singles matches to clinch the victory. As a result, Ferris State ended their season with an overall record of 12-9.

This year marked the third consecutive appearance for the Bulldogs in the NCAA Tournament and their 23rd overall in program history. Tiffin's victories included a 6-3 win at one doubles and a 6-2 victory at two doubles.

In singles competition, Maria Fernanda Hernandez Ferrer achieved a win for Ferris State at the third flight with scores of 6-3, 6-2. However, Tiffin secured straight-set wins at two, four, and six singles positions to secure their triumph.

In addition to reaching the NCAA Tournament, Ferris State finished third in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and advanced to the GLIAC Tournament Semifinals under head coach Mark Doren.
