Ferris State's tennis teams secure 11 spots on All-GLIAC team

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University's tennis teams have achieved notable success in this year's All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) awards. The teams were recognized during the conference tournament held over the weekend in Midland.

A total of 11 athletes from Ferris State were named in the selection, based on voting by the league's head coaches. The men's team saw five players recognized, while six women received honors.

Kevin Kovacs and Alessandro Santangelo of the men's team were awarded All-GLIAC First Team recognition for singles. Furthermore, Erik Kovacs and Kevin Kovacs were honored with First Team doubles selection. Adrian Catahan garnered an honorable mention. Santangelo also won the GLIAC Sportsmanship Award.

On the women's side, Ana Sofia Hernandez Ferrer was selected for the All-GLIAC First Team in singles. Yara Madi earned Second Team singles honors. The doubles teams of Kennedy Dumas with Maria Fernanda Hernandez Ferrer, and Aimee Reynoso with Madi, achieved Second Team doubles honors. Katherine Earnest secured an honorable mention.

Both Ferris State teams competed in the GLIAC Tournament Semifinals and are anticipated to be contenders for NCAA Tournament berths, with selections to be announced on Monday, May 5 at NCAA.com.
