Ferris State advances to GLIAC Women's Golf Championship final against Grand Valley State

The Ferris State University women's golf team advanced to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship final. The event took place in Augusta, Michigan.

The team progressed by finishing second in stroke play and moved on to the semifinals. They ended up in a tiebreaker against Wayne State. Following this victory, they are set to face Grand Valley State in the championship final.

In stroke play, Ferris State posted a total score of 601, with only Grand Valley State ahead at 578. Lizzie Anderson of Ferris State achieved runner-up with a score of 146, while Ashley Thomasma tied for fifth with a score of 149. Other contributions came from Kamryn Shannon, Susie Gietl, and Kylie Walker.

Gietl secured a win by three shots in the semifinals, Anderson was victorious by ten shots, and Shannon reached a tie. Ferris State won the overall tiebreaker against Wayne State by total strokes.

The tournament, hosted at Stonehedge North Golf Course, sees Ferris State seeking its sixth GLIAC Championship title. The final match against Grand Valley State will conclude the event.
