The Ferris State University men's and women's tennis teams faced losses in their final regular-season games against Wayne State as part of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) on Friday, April 18, in Detroit.
The men’s team was defeated 5-2, while the women's team ended with a 7-0 loss to one of the conference's top programs. In the women’s matches, Wayne State secured the doubles point, followed by victories across all six singles matches.
In the men’s competition, Ferris State also lost the doubles point but managed to win two singles matches. Alessandro Santangelo claimed a victory in the second singles position, and Felipe Iser secured a win in the fourth singles match.
The women’s team concluded the regular season with an 11-7 overall record and a 6-2 record in the league. The men’s team finished with the same overall record and a 5-2 record in GLIAC play.
Both Ferris State teams are set to compete in the GLIAC Tournament scheduled from April 25 to April 27 in Midland.
