Ferris State University's men's and women's track and field teams participated in the Golden Grizzly Invitational, hosted by Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, on April 5, 2025. Competing against athletes from across the state and region, the Bulldogs achieved six performances ranking among the top 10 in school history and earned 34 top-eight finishes.
Nyah Tyron and Lizzie Haines placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 400 hurdles, with Emily Plouff finishing fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. In the 800 meters, Daisy Englund came in fourth, followed by Abby Griffith, Ella Kowatch, and Taylor Huntoon. The Bulldogs' Abigail Winkle and Allie Delost also secured top finishes in the 200 and 100 meters.
In field events, Alexis Le and Angela Kotecki both claimed fourth-place finishes in the high jump and long jump, while Maddy Biller was ninth in the hammer throw. The women's team excelled in relays, with the 4x400-meter team placing second and the 4x100-meter team finishing fourth.
On the men's side, Devin Dennison won the hammer throw and set the school's fourth-best throw in history. Charlie Sutton achieved fourth and sixth places in the 100 and 200 meters. In other events, Aaron Bowerman, Cooper Sorsen, Nathan Alford, Blaine Rogers, and Zander Johnigan all earned top positions in their respective categories.
Hayden Josef secured third place in the high jump, with teammates Charlie Nickels and Aaron Pierce also placing high in the high jump and long jump. Brady Zarb and Royce Daugherty finished seventh and eighth in the shot put, while Dennison and Hunter Richardson completed impressive performances in the discus.
Ferris State's teams are set to participate in the Davenport Invitational in Caledonia on April 11-12.
