The Ferris State University women's golf team secured a ninth-place finish at the Oldfield Intercollegiate Tournament, held on March 17-18 in Okatie, South Carolina. The event was organized by USC Beaufort at the Oldfield Club and included 15 teams, with eight ranked among the top 42 nationally.
SCAD Savannah, ranked third nationally, won the tournament with an overall score of +43. East Florida State followed in second place at +49, while Indianapolis finished third with a score of +60.
Ferris State completed the tournament with a total score of 948 at +84 over three rounds. Lizzie Anderson led the team by tying for sixth place individually with a total score of 226. She recorded scores of 76 in the first round and consecutive 75s in the final two rounds.
Kamryn Shannon tied for 22nd place with a total score of 234, achieving scores of 81 in round one, 75 in round two, and finishing with a 78. Kylie Walker tied for 41st place with a cumulative score of 241, recording an initial round of 83 followed by two rounds of 79.
Taylor Musselman finished tied for 60th with scores of 81, 86, and another 81 across her rounds for a total of 249. Ashley Thomasma tied for 71st place with an overall score of 254 after posting scores of 88, then improving to an 84 and concluding with an 82.
Competing as an individual, Lauren Kempf placed in the field's standings at position number eighty-five. Her scores were marked as follows: she started off with a round totaling one hundred strokes before subsequently achieving ninety-three strokes in her second attempt and ultimately attaining eighty strokes during her final effort.
The Bulldogs are set to compete next at the Findianapolis Intercollegiate on March 31 and April 1 in Laconia, Indiana.
