The Ferris State University men's golf team achieved a seventh-place finish at the Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate tournament, concluding on Tuesday in Monroe, North Carolina. The event was held at the Rolling Hills Country Club, featuring a par 72 course stretching 6,818 yards.
Host team Wingate University secured first place with a score of 846 in the competition that included 16 schools. USC-Beaufort followed closely in second place with a score of 849.
Ferris State posted a combined score of 869 over three rounds. The team began with a round of 289 and concluded with consecutive rounds of 290.
Zach Koerner led Ferris State by tying for 16th place overall, scoring a total of 215. His performance included an even-par 72 in the first round, a 74 in the second, and an impressive three-under-par 69 in the final round.
Kole Putnam, McCoy Biagioli, and Sam Havey each tied for 31st place with scores of 219 over the three-round event. Putnam shot rounds of 72, 71, and 76; Biagioli carded scores of 73, 71, and 75; while Havey recorded scores of 72, 74, and finished with a round of 73.
Drayton Cleaver completed his rounds tied for the position at number fifty-one with an overall score of 223. He shot two rounds of seventy-three sandwiching a seventy-seven in the middle round.
The Bulldogs are scheduled to participate next in the Findianapolis Intercollegiate event set for March thirty-first and April first in Laconia, Indiana.
