The Ferris State University men's and women's track and field teams participated in the Saginaw Valley State Tune-Up Meet on Friday, February 21, as a preparation for the upcoming Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships. The event took place at University Center.
During the meet, both Bulldog squads achieved a combined total of 35 top-eight finishes. Notably, Abigail Winkle secured second place in the women's 200 meters with a time of 25.46 seconds, while Lacey Zimmerman finished sixth in the same event. Ana Fortier placed seventh in the women's 60 meters.
In other races, Daisy Englund came fourth in the 800 meters, followed by Ella Kowatch in fifth place and Taylor Huntoon and Abby Griffith finishing seventh and eighth respectively. Whitney Farrell finished fourth in the mile run with Hanna Brock right behind her in fifth place.
Jessica Durkee claimed third place in the women's 3,000 meters, accompanied by Emily Plouff who finished seventh and Tessa Wohlschlegel who came eighth. In field events, Alexis Le achieved third place in high jump while Angela Kotecki was fifth in long jump. Maddy Biller took fifth position in shot put with Rebecca Marvin finishing eighth; Marvin also secured fourth position in weight throw.
On the men's side, Charlie Sutton captured third place in the 200 meters race and Bryson Fronta came fifth. Owen Behrenwald placed fifth in the 60 meters while Luke Berney secured another fifth-place finish but this time for his performance over 400 meters. Blaine Rogers ended up fourth overall when competing within hurdles category covering distance equaling to sixty-meters lengthwise.
Jared Watchorn earned himself sixth placement across eight-hundred-meter dash just ahead of Zak Kimmel whose efforts landed him an equivalent standing within mile segment - closely followed again by Gavin Vansolkema completing said circuit whilst obtaining rank denoted as being number "eight".
