Ferris State University's women's tennis team concluded their exhibition schedule with a 7-0 loss to Western Michigan University on Sunday, January 19, at the West Hills Athletic Club in Kalamazoo. The Broncos secured the doubles point and won all singles matches against the Bulldogs.

Despite the defeat, Ferris State's head coach Mark Doren expressed satisfaction with his team's effort. "I'm very happy with the fight in this team and am even more excited to start Division II tennis coming up soon," he said. He also praised the performance of their number one doubles team, Ana Sofia Hernandez and Kennedy Dumas, who were leading 5-3 before Western Michigan clinched the doubles point.

In singles competition, Hernandez lost narrowly with a 7-6 score in her second set at one singles, while Maria Hernandez fell 7-5 in her second set at four singles.

The weekend saw Ferris State face NCAA Division I opponents three times, including two matches against Eastern Michigan. The Bulldogs will begin their regular season on February 1 with a dual match against regional rival Indianapolis.
