Ferris State cross country concludes season at NCAA D2 Midwest Regionals

Ferris State University's cross country teams concluded their fall season at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships held in Romeoville, Illinois. The women's team secured 12th place with a total of 310 points among nearly 30 participating teams.

Senior Hanna Brock led the women's squad, finishing 38th with a time of 22:25.61 on the 6K course. Junior Whitney Farrell followed closely, placing 44th with a time of 22:33.12. Other notable performances included junior Jessica Durkee in 61st place (23:05.33), senior Daisy Englund in 77th (23:17.53), and Melanea Strauss as the fifth finisher for Ferris State with a time of 23:33.80.

The men's team finished in 17th place overall, accumulating 409 points. Cooper Sorsen led the Bulldog men by securing all-region honors with his performance, placing 25th in the 8K event with a time of 31:41.90, marking it as the ninth-best showing in school history.

Other contributors to the men's team included Ben Knuth in 76th place (32:41.53), Noah Griffith at 101st (33:07.77), Gavin Vansolkema at 103rd (33:10.47), and Ryan Ososki finishing just behind him at 104th (33:10.80).
