The Davenport University Department of Athletic Communications has announced the launch of a new mobile application, Davenport Panthers Mobile, in partnership with SIDEARM Sports. This app serves as the official mobile platform for Davenport Athletics.
Davenport and SIDEARM Sports have maintained a long-standing partnership that spans over eight years. Currently, Davenport is in the midst of a four-year contract with SIDEARM Sports. Recently, funds initially allocated for video streaming through SIDEARM became available when the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and Davenport University collaborated with FloSports to provide exclusive live video streaming services. During this period, SIDEARM Sports has been hosting dupanthers.com, contributing to the accessibility of Panther sports for an expanding fanbase.
"Looking through the analytics from recent years, 80% of our page views have come from a mobile device," said Ryan Thompson, Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications. "The ability to offer a mobile app gives our student-athletes and fans yet another option to follow their favorite teams. The design brings a dynamic layout that we feel the public will really enjoy. One of our goals is to make following our teams as simple as possible. We believe that this step is something that sets us apart in NCAA Division II."
The new app offers features such as real-time news alerts, schedules, exclusive multimedia content, gameday details, and more. It is free and compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
Through this application, fans can enjoy a personalized mobile experience by managing tickets and receiving breaking news and score notifications related to their favorite teams.
Designed with user-friendliness in mind, the app integrates seamlessly with dupanthers.com to deliver up-to-date DU Athletics digital content directly to users' devices. It also includes links to video and audio streams of live games, in-game statistics, and team social media feeds.
To download the app on smartphones or tablets, users can visit either the App Store or Google Play and search for "Davenport Panthers."
