The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has released the GLIAC All-Academic and All-Academic Excellence Teams for the Fall 2022 semester. To qualify, student-athletes must be active members of their team rosters at the end of the season and not be freshmen or first-year transfer students. The All-Academic Team includes those with a cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.49, while the Academic Excellence Team comprises those with GPAs ranging from 3.50 to 4.0.
Davenport University had a total of 79 student-athletes recognized, with 27 on the All-Academic Team and 52 on the Academic Excellence Team.
In football, notable mentions include Liam Cavanaugh in Industrial Production Management and Cal Doyle in Sport Management among others on the All-Academic Team. On the Academic Excellence side, Hunter Adams in Sport Management and Jonathan Douglas in Supply Chain Management were highlighted.
Volleyball players such as Kenzy Corstange in Nursing made it to the All-Academic list, while Jessica Florn in Biological Laboratory Science was noted for Academic Excellence.
Men's soccer saw Darren Collins from Ballincollig Community included on the All-Academic list, while Ethan Deheus was part of those recognized for Academic Excellence.
Women's soccer players like Ajaysia Hacker in Sport Management were acknowledged for their academic achievements alongside Gabriana Bennecke who excelled with a higher GPA.
Cross country athletes Garrett Melling and Collin Graham also earned spots on these lists based on their respective GPAs.
