Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University's annual Crimson & Gold Spring Game concluded in a 47-47 tie at Top Taggart Field on Friday, April 19. The game, featuring the red and white squads, ended with a dramatic final play as FSU kicker Mitch Middleton made a 53-yard field goal to level the score.

The event marked the end of spring practice for the Bulldogs, who have reached the NCAA Division II Playoffs for nine consecutive years. It provided fans an opportunity to see the team in action since their playoff appearance last fall under head coach Tony Annese.

The spring game utilized a modified scoring and timing format and allowed many younger players to participate while several veterans had limited or no playing time. The White squad initially led by 19 points in the second half before being caught by the Red team.

Looking ahead, Ferris State is preparing for its 115th varsity season this fall with hopes of making a tenth consecutive playoff appearance. The Bulldogs have achieved five national semifinal appearances and three national championship games, winning titles consecutively in 2021 and 2022.

Over recent seasons, Ferris State has maintained an impressive record of success. They boast a 36-4 overall record over three seasons and are recognized as one of Division II's most successful programs over nine full seasons with a record of 63-6 over four years. Since Tony Annese became head coach in 2012, FSU holds Michigan's best collegiate record at 123-20 (.860).

Further details on postgame coverage will be released soon.
