Ferris State University's cross country teams participated in the 2023 GLIAC Championships on Saturday, October 21, in Houghton. The event was hosted by Michigan Tech University.
The men's team secured a seventh-place finish, while the women's team came in eighth overall. Grand Valley State emerged victorious in both the men's and women's races.
For the men's team, Cooper Sorsen was the top performer for Ferris State, finishing 38th with a time of 25:50.5. Caleb Branch followed in 45th place with a time of 26:03.9. Brandon Wirth secured the 50th spot at 26:15.6, Noah Griffith finished 54th with a time of 26:21.3, and Ryan Ososki completed the top five for Ferris State with a 59th place finish and a time of 26:26.6.
On the women's side, Hanna Brock led Ferris State's efforts by finishing in 41st place with a time of 23:15.5. Danae Feldpausch finished at 23:24.3, earning her the 48th position. Whitney Farrell was close behind at 23:31.4 in 51st place, Becci Castillo placed 55th with a time of 23:42.6, and Daisy Englund rounded out the top five for Ferris State with a time of 23:53.3 in the 61st position.
The Bulldogs will next compete at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional on November 4 in Evansville, Indiana.
