The Ferris State University men's golf team began the 2024 NCAA Division II Midwest/Central Super Regional with a promising performance. On Thursday, May 9, in Edmond, Oklahoma, the Bulldogs recorded a first-round score of 279 at one-under par. This result placed them fourth among the 20 schools competing at Kickingbird Golf Course.

Ferris State's score is just three shots behind the leaders as they move into the second day of play. Missouri S&T and Harding both posted scores of four-under 276 on the opening day, while Grand Valley State was in third place with a three-under score. The Bulldogs were one shot ahead of Henderson State, which finished even-par at 280.

Nathan Kraynyk led Ferris State with a three-under par round of 67, tying for fifth place individually. Caleb Bond also performed well with a two-under 68, placing him tied for 11th. Freshman McCoy Biagioli shot an even-par 70 to tie for 23rd place. Zach Koerner and Sam Havey rounded out the team with scores of 74 and 77 respectively.

The tournament continues on Friday, May 10, starting at 9:30 a.m., followed by the final round on Saturday. Hosted by Southern Nazarene University, this regional includes teams from both the Midwest and Central regions along with individual competitors.

The top five teams and two individuals not affiliated with advancing teams will qualify for finals scheduled from May 21-25 in Winter Garden, Florida. Rollins College and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission will host these finals.

Historically, Ferris State has been successful in this competition; they were runners-up in Kearney, Nebraska in 2017 and reached national quarterfinals that year. In recent years they have consistently made strong showings at super regionals and national championships.

This marks Ferris State's participation in its nineteenth NCAA Tournament over twenty-one years—a testament to their consistent excellence in men's golf nationally.

Live scoring updates are available throughout the tournament online.
