The Ferris State University men's ice hockey team, alongside the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA), has announced its 2023-24 conference schedule. The Bulldogs are set to host 12 home CCHA games this season, while details of their non-league schedule will be revealed later.
The Bulldogs begin their CCHA campaign on the road against Northern Michigan on October 27-28 at the Berry Events Center. Their first home league games will be against the Minnesota State Mavericks on November 10-11, seeking redemption from last season's semifinals.
Another away series follows when Ferris State visits Michigan Tech Huskies on November 17-18. After a break for Thanksgiving, they return to face St. Thomas Tommies at home on December 1-2. The Bulldogs conclude their away games for the year with a visit to Bowling Green on December 8-9, where they performed strongly last season.
Ferris State hosts Lake Superior State in Big Rapids for the first of four encounters between these rivals on December 16. In January, FSU opens with a home series against Bemidji State on January 5-6 before traveling to Minnesota State on January 12-13 and then returning for another match against Lake Superior State.
A notable addition to this year's schedule is Ferris State's inaugural meetings with Augustana (South Dakota) on January 26-27; these games will not impact league standings. Following that, Ferris returns to host Bowling Green again on February 2-3 and then heads out for a quick series at Bemidji State from February 15-16.
An early February matchup provides extra preparation time before Senior Weekend when Ferris hosts Northern Michigan on February 23-24. The regular-season wraps up with an away game at Lake Superior State in Sault Ste. Marie on March 1.
The pursuit of the Mason Cup Championship begins with quarterfinals scheduled for March 8-10 and semifinals slated for March 16; the championship date remains pending announcement. These matches will occur at campus venues.
Details about tickets and a complete schedule are forthcoming as fans anticipate an exciting hockey season ahead.
