Ferris State cross country competes at Greater Louisville Classic

The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country teams participated in the Greater Louisville Classic, one of the largest collegiate meets in the nation. The event took place on Saturday at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, showcasing top collegiate competition across various divisions.

Brendan Cairney led the Bulldog men's team with a 76th-place finish in the "Blue Division," completing the 8K course in 25:56.6. Caleb Branch followed in 87th place with a time of 26:03. Cooper Sorsen finished 94th (26:08.0), Noah Griffith was 95th (26:08.1), and Brandon Wirth rounded out the top five for Ferris State at 122nd place (26:18.4).

On the women's side, sophomore Whitney Farrell was the top performer for Ferris State, finishing 73rd overall with a time of 19:14.5. Becca Castilo came in 83rd (19:29.9), Hanna Brock secured 86th place (19:22.5), Melanea Strauss was close behind in 88th (19:22.6), and Danae Feldpausch completed FSU's top five by placing 147th (19:49.1).

The Bulldogs are scheduled to compete next at the Lewis Conference Crossover on October 7 in Romeoville, Illinois.
