Ferris State cross country teams compete at Lewis Crossover event

Ferris State University's men's and women's cross country teams participated in the Lewis Crossover event on Saturday, October 7, in Romeoville, Illinois. Competing against more than 30 schools, the men's team secured 17th place overall, while the women's team finished in 22nd place.

The men's team was led by Brendan Cairney, who placed 73rd with a time of 25:12.4. Cooper Sorsen followed closely in 82nd place at 25:16.6, with Caleb Branch finishing 85th at 25:17.7. Brandon Wirth and Noah Griffith completed the top five for Ferris State men with times of 25:31.6 and 25:40.1 respectively.

On the women's side, Hanna Brock was the top performer for Ferris State, securing the 111th position with a time of 23:07.2. Whitney Farrell finished in 125th place at 23:17.1, followed by Becci Castillo in 144th at 23:27.7. Danae Feldpausch and Jessica Durkee rounded out the team's top five competitors with times of 23:32.9 and 23:39.4 respectively.

Looking ahead, both teams are set to compete in the GLIAC Championships on October 21 in Houghton.
