Ferris State cross country teams perform well at Spartan Invitational

The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country teams participated in the Michigan State Spartan Invitational held in East Lansing on September 15, 2023. The women's team secured a fifth-place finish, while the men's team placed eighth overall.

In the women's category, junior Danae Feldpausch led her team by finishing 56th with a time of 23:26.1. Following closely was Becci Castillo, who finished 57th at 23:27.7, and Whitney Farrell came in 63rd with a time of 23:31.5 on the five-kilometer course. Hanna Brock secured the 70th position with a time of 23:45.8, while Daisy Englund completed the top five for Ferris State at 76th place with a time of 23:56.4.

For the men's team, junior Noah Griffith was the fastest among his teammates, completing his run in 26:20.5 to claim the 68th spot in the field. Senior Brandon Wirth followed closely behind at 71st place with a time of 26:24.6. Cooper Sorsen finished in the 77th position with a time of 26:29.5, Ryan Ososki was right after him at 80th place clocking in at 26:31.1, and Caleb Branch rounded out their top performers by placing 81st with a time of 26:32.2.

The Bulldogs are set to compete next at the Lansing Invite scheduled for Friday, September 22.
