Ferris State cross country competes at GLIAC Championships

The Ferris State University cross country teams participated in the 2023 GLIAC Championships on October 21, held at Michigan Tech University in Houghton. The men's team secured a seventh-place finish, while the women's team finished eighth overall. Grand Valley State took first place in both categories.

For the men's team, Cooper Sorsen was the top performer for Ferris State, finishing 38th with a time of 25:50.5. Other notable performances included Caleb Branch in 45th place with a time of 26:03.9 and Brandon Wirth who came in 50th at 26:15.6. Noah Griffith followed closely behind in 54th place with a time of 26:21.3, and Ryan Ososki completed the top five for Ferris State with a time of 26:26.6, finishing in 59th place.

On the women's side, Hanna Brock led the Bulldogs by finishing in 41st place with a time of 23:15.5. Danae Feldpausch followed with a time of 23:24.3 to secure the 48th spot, while Whitney Farrell was right behind her at 23:31.4, taking the 51st position. Becci Castillo placed 55th with a time of 23:42.6 and Daisy Englund rounded out the top five Bulldog finishers by completing her race in 61st place at a time of 23:53.3.

The Bulldogs are set to compete next at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional on November 4 in Evansville, Indiana.
