Ferris State University tennis player Esunge Ndumbe has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Player of the Week. Ndumbe, a sophomore from Keller, Texas, had a successful week during Ferris State's spring break trip to Florida.
Ndumbe, who is ranked 48th nationally in singles play, achieved notable victories including a 6-4, 7-5 win against Vincent Thiel, the nation's second-ranked competitor. This match took place at Saint Leo University in Florida.
In addition to his singles success, Ndumbe partnered with Benjamin Lortie for a doubles victory against NCAA Division 1 Belmont. The duo won their match 6-3. Ndumbe concluded the week by winning both his singles and doubles matches in Ferris State's 4-3 victory over Rockhurst University near Orlando.
The Bulldogs will continue their season with two non-conference regional matches at home. They will face Tiffin on Friday and Walsh on Saturday at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.
