The Ferris State University cross country teams are set to compete in the 2023 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 21, in Houghton, Michigan, hosted by Michigan Tech University. Top runners from the GLIAC will participate.
The championships will commence at 10 a.m. Eastern Time with the women's 6K race, followed by the men's 8K race at 10:45 a.m. An awards ceremony will follow both events.
Grand Valley State holds the title of defending champion for both men's and women's competitions. In preparation for the championships, three men's teams are ranked among the top 25 nationally, while three women's teams are in the top 30 according to the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Rankings.
After participating in this week's GLIAC Championships, Ferris State University's Bulldogs will move on to compete in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships on November 4 in Evansville, Indiana. Successful teams from regionals will qualify for national championships slated for November 18 in Joplin, Missouri.
