Ferris State golfers sweep GLIAC Player of Week awards

Ferris State University golfers Caleb Bond and Kamryn Shannon have been recognized by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) as the Players of the Week. This announcement was made by the league office, highlighting their performances in recent competitions.

Caleb Bond was named the GLIAC Men's Golfer of the Week following his impressive performance at the "FIndianapolis" Intercollegiate event held on April 1-2. Bond led his team to victory, securing medalist honors with a total score of 207 strokes over 54 holes, finishing nine-under par. His rounds included scores of 66, 67, and a final round of 74. The Bulldogs completed the event first overall with a team score of 856, eight-under par, at Chariot Run Golf Club in Laconia, Indiana.

Kamryn Shannon earned the GLIAC Women's Golfer of the Week title for her role in leading Ferris State's women's team to a third-place finish at the same tournament. Shannon finished tenth individually with a score of 229 over three rounds. Her performance included scores of 77 and two consecutive rounds of 76, ending +13 overall. The women's team concluded with a total score of 942, placing third in their field.

The men's golf team is preparing for their next competition at the GLIAC Championships scheduled for April 12-14 in Augusta, Michigan. Meanwhile, the women's squad will participate in the NC4K Classic on April 8-9 in Grove City, Ohio before competing in the GLIAC Women's Golf Championships from April 19-21 also in Augusta.
