Ferris State University's sophomore second baseman, Jadyn Joseph, has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Player of the Week. This recognition marks her first time receiving this honor during the current season.

Joseph's performance was instrumental in Ferris State's successful week, during which the team secured five victories and moved up to second place in the GLIAC standings. Over eight games, she achieved a .480 batting average, leading her team with 12 hits and 10 runs scored. In addition to her hitting prowess, Joseph drew two walks and was hit by pitches three times across 25 at-bats.

Her contributions included two doubles, a triple, four RBIs, and three extra-base hits that accounted for 16 total bases. Notably, Joseph recorded three hits and two doubles while scoring three times in a decisive 12-3 victory against Parkside on Monday. She also contributed four hits and a triple in Ferris State's 7-0 win over Davenport on Saturday. Her efforts continued with two hits against Grand Valley State during a league road split on Sunday.

Defensively, Joseph excelled at second base with nearly flawless play and made 13 put-outs.

Looking ahead, Ferris State will host Parkside for a doubleheader on Saturday (April 20) at the FSU Softball Field. The first game is set to begin at 1 p.m., followed by the second game at 3 p.m. This event will be Military Appreciation Day; active military members and veterans are encouraged to attend free of charge as the Bulldogs wear camo jerseys.

The following day (April 21), Ferris State will face Purdue Northwest for Senior Day starting at 1 p.m., with game two scheduled for a later start at 3 p.m.

Currently, Ferris State holds an overall record of 21-20 this year and ranks near the top of the GLIAC standings with a conference record of 9-7.
