The Ferris State University women's basketball team concluded a landmark season with a loss to Texas Woman's University in the NCAA Division II National Semifinals. The game, held at St. Joseph Civic Arena, ended with a score of 68-52 in favor of Texas Woman's University.

Ferris State finished the season with a record of 26-6, setting a new school record for wins in a single season. This year marked their first NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championship victory and their inaugural appearance in the NCAA D2 Elite Eight.

In the semifinals, after defeating Tampa in the quarterfinals, Ferris State faced an early challenge against Texas Woman's University. Foul trouble allowed TWU to take a 25-16 lead by the end of the first quarter. Although Ferris State reduced TWU's lead to eight points late in the third quarter, they were unable to sustain momentum.

Senior guard Mallory McCartney led Ferris State with 16 points despite playing through an ankle injury sustained in Monday's game. She also contributed four steals, four assists, and four rebounds. Senior Chloe Idoni added 10 points in her final game alongside fellow senior Amaka Unobagha.

Texas Woman's University's Scout Huffman scored 18 points, while Ashley Ingram recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Ferris State achieved significant milestones this season, surpassing their previous win record and advancing beyond past achievements by reaching the Elite Eight for the first time since making it to the regional title game back in 2007.
