Ferris State cross country competes at Michigan State Spartan Invitational

Ferris State University's men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Michigan State Auto-Owners Spartan Invitational in East Lansing. The event took place on Friday, September 13.

In the women's 6K race, Hanna Brock led the Ferris State Bulldogs by finishing 27th overall with a time of 22:51.8. Whitney Farrell closely followed, securing the 28th spot with a time of 23:00.6. Jessica Durkee came in at 51st place, clocking in at 23:40.4, while Ella Kowatch and Kaylee Huey finished in 64th and 66th places with times of 24:14.7 and 24:20.7, respectively.

On the men's side, junior Cooper Sorsen led his team in the 8K race by finishing in 39th place with a time of 25:57.8. Ryan Ososki finished in the 60th position at 26:36.7, followed by Gavin Vansolkema in 74th place with a time of 26:57.4 and Noah Griffith who completed his run in the 80th spot at a time of 27:11.7. Freshman Zak Kimmel placed 87th overall at a time of 27:17.4 while sophomore Ben Knuth secured the team's lineup by finishing in the upper half at position number 92 with a time of 27:26.4.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to return to Lansing for their next competition on September 20 for the Lansing Invite.
