Ferris State University's softball team achieved a split in their Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) games against Parkside. The home doubleheader took place on Saturday at the FSU Softball Field in Big Rapids, Michigan. In the first game, Ferris State secured a 5-0 victory but lost the second match 8-6.

The event also marked FSU's Military Appreciation Day, where the Bulldogs honored active service members and veterans.

In the opening game, Ferris State scored consistently throughout, with runs in four different innings. Senior pitcher Aryn Gallacher delivered an impressive performance, achieving a complete game shutout over seven innings. She allowed only four hits without any runs while striking out three batters and walking two.

Offensively, freshman Alexis Kozlowski contributed significantly with two hits including a triple and an RBI. Jadyn Joseph added to the score with a home run, two runs scored, and two RBIs while drawing two walks. Brooklyn Verbeek also made her mark with two hits, complemented by Abby Meyer's double.

In the second game, Parkside initially led with three runs in the third inning. Ferris State responded with five runs but could not maintain their lead as Parkside scored once more in the fourth and four times in the fifth inning. The Rangers ended up out-hitting Ferris State 14-12.

Ferris State rotated through four pitchers—Ashley Webb, Sophie Wisniski, Gallacher, and Izzy Regner—who collectively gave up eight earned runs on 14 hits while managing five strikeouts and two walks.

On offense for Ferris State in this game were doubles from Verbeek and shortstop Emma Gillard. Emily Killion joined Gillard and Meyer in securing two hits each. Both Killion and Gillard recorded two RBIs apiece.

Looking ahead, Ferris State is set to face Purdue Northwest on Sunday for Senior Day at their home field. The first game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m., followed by a second match at approximately 3 p.m.
