Ferris State University's women's golf team has announced the addition of three new players for the 2024-25 season. The team, which won the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship last spring, will welcome Kylie Walker, Katelyn Walker, and Ashley Thomasma.

Head coach Sam Stark expressed enthusiasm about the new recruits: "We're excited to add these three individuals to our program next fall," Stark said. "All three have great backgrounds in golf and a bright future at the collegiate level. We're thrilled they decided to become a Bulldog."

Kylie Walker is ranked #173 nationally in her class by Junior Golf Scoreboard and was named Wisconsin PGA Junior Girls Player of the Year. Stark commented on her achievements: "Kylie will bring a tremendous pedigree with her to FSU," he said. "She was named the Wisconsin High School Player of the Year the last four years, and was the Wisconsin PGA Junior Player of the Year this past Summer."

Her sister, Katelyn Walker, is ranked #430 by Junior Golf Scoreboard and will join Kylie at Ferris State. Stark noted her capabilities: "We are thrilled to have Katelyn as a Bulldog," he added. "She is a golfer who has experienced success in high-pressure situations."

Ashley Thomasma comes with significant accolades from Michigan's high school sports scene. She is a four-time Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Division 3 All-State honoree. Stark shared his thoughts on her potential contribution: "We are extremely excited to bring Ashley on board," he said.

The Bulldogs aim to continue their success when they resume their 2023-24 schedule in March after reaching the NCAA East Regional Championships for two consecutive years.
