Ferris State University's softball team concluded their regular season with two losses against Saginaw Valley State University. The games took place on Saturday, April 27, in University Center, Michigan. The Cardinals won the first game 8-0 and followed up with a 10-2 victory in the second.

As a result of these losses, Ferris State secured the fourth seed for the upcoming Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament. In the first game, Saginaw Valley State scored three runs in the second inning, two more in the fourth, and another three in the sixth to win after six innings. Pitcher Emily Depew was instrumental for SVSU, holding Ferris State hitless while striking out three batters.

The Bulldogs' pitchers Aryn Gallacher and Ashley Webb conceded eight runs on ten hits during this match-up. In the second game, Ferris State briefly led 2-1 before Saginaw Valley responded with three runs in the fourth inning and six more in the fifth to secure a five-inning win.

Alexis Kozlowski of Ferris State hit a home run and collected two hits overall. Maddie Gkekas contributed with a hit and an RBI while Emily Killion also recorded a hit. Depew claimed her 18th win of the season for SVSU by allowing two runs on three hits over four innings. Aalana Kimble saved the game by keeping FSU scoreless during her single inning on the mound.

The Bulldogs used four pitchers—Izzy Regner, Webb, Gallacher, and Rylie Haist—who together allowed ten runs on ten hits. The GLIAC Tournament is scheduled for May 2-5 at Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Rosemont, Illinois. Ferris State will play against Wayne State on Thursday, May 2 at noon Eastern Time.
