Ferris State falls to Northern Michigan in conference soccer match

Ferris State University's women's soccer team faced a setback against Northern Michigan University in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match held in Marquette. The Bulldogs were defeated 1-0 on Sunday, October 29.

The game marked Ferris State's second consecutive loss by the same scoreline during their trip to the Upper Peninsula. Lauren Kubacki began as goalkeeper for Ferris State and recorded six saves before being replaced by Darya Mosallaei, who also made six saves in the second half. The team's offensive efforts were limited, with senior Payton Price managing their only shot on goal.

Northern Michigan's Hannah Kastamo scored the decisive goal of the match in the 63rd minute, assisted by Kenna Alexander. Throughout the game, Northern Michigan attempted 24 shots compared to Ferris State's four and had four corner kicks against Ferris State's one. The Bulldogs committed 19 fouls during the match.

Looking ahead, Ferris State will finish its regular season on Thursday, November 2, with a game against Saginaw Valley State at University Center. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m. Eastern Time and will be followed by the start of the GLIAC Tournament on Monday, November 6.
