A total of five Ferris State University softball players have been recognized with All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) honors for the 2024 season. The league office announced these accolades on Wednesday, highlighting the Bulldogs' strong performance.
FSU freshman Alexis Kozlowski from Gaylord has been named the 2024 GLIAC Freshman of the Year. This marks the second year in a row that a Bulldog has received this rookie award. Additionally, Kozlowski earned a spot on the All-GLIAC First Team. She is joined by senior pitcher Aryn Gallacher from Rochester Hills/Rochester on the first team.
Sophomore designated player/catcher Emily Killion from Dundee was selected for the second-team all-conference. Meanwhile, freshman shortstop Emma Gillard from Ravenna and sophomore second baseman Jadyn Joseph from Holt received All-GLIAC Honorable Mention honors. Notably, Joseph was last year's GLIAC Freshman of the Year as a left fielder before transitioning to an infield position this season.
These five athletes contributed to Ferris State's top-four finish in regular-season play within the GLIAC and secured their place in the conference tournament this spring.
Ferris State will begin its postseason journey as the fourth seed and is set to compete against fifth-seeded Wayne State in their opening game of the GLIAC Tournament on Thursday, May 2, at 12 p.m. Eastern Time at Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Rosemont, Illinois.
