Ferris State track teams secure multiple top-eight finishes at Hilltopper Relays

The Ferris State University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams participated in the Hilltopper Relays hosted by Western Kentucky University on March 29-30 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The Bulldogs competed against several schools, including NCAA Division I host WKU, and achieved a total of 30 top-eight finishes over the weekend. This included one first-place finish and seven runner-up positions.

In the women's events, Lacey Zimmerman secured second place in the 100 meters with a time of 12.51 seconds and finished third in the 200 meters at 25.90 seconds. Abigail Winkle came fourth in the 200 meters (26.04), while Angela Kotecki was sixth (26.39). Ana Fortier also competed in the 100 meters, finishing sixth with a time of 12.79 seconds.

Winkle further excelled by earning second place in the 400 meters (59.75), followed by Makayla Roberts in third (1:02.80) and Kayla Muth in fourth (1:02.85). Nyah Tyron achieved runner-up status in the 400 hurdles.

In field events, Claudia Wilkinson placed fourth in the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 3.25 inches. Rebecca Marvin took second place in discus (105-10) and third in shot put (35-10.5), along with fifth place in hammer throw (123-9). Eva Watkins finished sixth in hammer throw (95-9) and seventh in shot put (28-3.5), while Isabel Dziadzio claimed fourth place in javelin (75-8).

The Bulldogs' women's team also earned second place in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 49.40 seconds.

On the men's side, Chase Carter secured third place in the 100 meters with a time of 10.63 seconds, while Bryson Fronta was sixth in the 200 meters (22.16) and seventh in the 100 meters (10.94). Dean Topolski placed seventh in the 200 meters at 22.68 seconds and Blaine Rogers was ninth at 23.39 seconds; Topolski also finished fifth in the 400 meters at a time of 50.42 seconds, followed by Tyrese Beedle who was seventh at 53.46 seconds.

The men's team won first place honors for their performance as a quartet consisting of Rogers, Topolski, Fronta, and Carter with a time of 42.32 seconds for their run on men's relay.

Aaron Pierce achieved runner-up honors for his performance during long jump event covering distance measuring up to about twenty-one feet ten inches; Hunter Richardson placed fifth during shot-put competition measuring up to forty-one feet four-and-a-quarter inches; Devin Dennison stood fifth within discus throws covering one hundred thirty-three feet two inches alongside Noah Jones securing second position throwing javelin approximately around hundred thirteen feet eleven inches distance-wise too respectively thereby ensuring successful outcomes overall throughout competition proceedings undertaken accordingly indeed truly!

The Bulldogs will next compete on April sixth when they travel to Rochester Michigan attending Golden Grizzly Invite tournament there then subsequently afterward later this year further down line ahead too eventually ultimately!
