Ferris State University's women's volleyball team has returned from a successful international trip to Spain and Portugal. The Bulldogs, who have reached the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen for three consecutive years, spent ten days abroad playing against foreign teams and experiencing cultural enrichment.

The team's journey began on May 5 when they left their campus in Big Rapids, Michigan, for Madrid. There, they practiced with IE University's women's club team and played their first international game. They achieved a 3-1 record before defeating the Torrejon Juniors.

While in Madrid, the team visited notable sites such as the Royal Palace and La Plaza Mayor. Afterward, they traveled to Soria to face the Spanish Junior National Team twice, securing victories of 4-1 and 3-1.

In Portugal, Ferris State competed in Lisbon against Belenenses and Next Level, winning both matches after challenging five-set games. The Bulldogs returned home on May 17 after completing their competitive schedule.

FSU senior Hannah Tecumseh reflected on the experience: "Every day was a new experience and we truly cherished every moment," she said. "This trip was life-changing and I am so grateful to be part of the Bulldog family."

The Bulldogs are preparing for another season following last fall's success when they claimed both an NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen spot and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championship.

A photo gallery from this international journey is available online with a video recap forthcoming.
