Ferris State cross country teams compete at two weekend events

Ferris State University's men's and women's cross country teams participated in two separate events on Saturday, October 12, as they prepared for the upcoming Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships. The majority of Ferris State's top runners competed at the Lewis Conference Crossover event in Romeoville, Illinois. Meanwhile, other team members took part in the Muskegon Jayhawk Invitational in West Michigan.

Senior Hanna Brock led the women's team at the Lewis event, finishing 51st overall with a time of 22:17.90 on the 6K course. Whitney Farrell followed closely behind, placing 67th with a time of 22:30.20. In total, more than 330 runners competed in the women's field.

On the men's side, Cooper Sorsen was Ferris State's leading runner, finishing 65th overall in the 8K race with a time of 25:00.60. Ryan Ososki was next for Ferris State, coming in at 136th place with a time of 25:35.30.

The results from the Muskegon Jayhawk Invitational are expected to be released soon.

Looking ahead, Ferris State's cross country teams are scheduled to compete at the Saginaw Valley State Invite on Friday, October 18, in University Center, Michigan.
