Ferris State women's golf finishes second at Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite

Ferris State University's women's golf team achieved a runner-up position at the 16th annual Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite, held on Sunday in Allendale. The event took place at The Meadows Golf Course on the Grand Valley State campus and included ten teams from the region. Host Grand Valley State University secured first place with a score of +33 for the tournament, while Ferris State finished second with a total of 632 over 36 holes.

Kamryn Shannon from Ferris State earned all-tournament team honors and was the individual runner-up with a score of +9 at 153 for the event. She improved her performance significantly by shooting an 85 in round one and an impressive 68 on Sunday, finishing just one stroke behind champion Charlotte Goersch of Grand Valley State.

Ferris State's Kylie Walker and Taylor Musselman both tied for 16th place overall, each scoring 160 over two days. Walker recorded scores of 77 and 83, while Musselman had consistent rounds of 80 each day. Hallie Crozier tied for 19th with a total score of 161 after rounds of 82 and 79.

Lizzie Anderson tied for 34th overall with a score of 169, posting scores of 83 and 86. Competing as individuals, Lauren Kempf tied for 21st with scores of 79 and 83 totaling to a stroke count of 162, while Ashley Thomasman placed 32nd with scores of 81 and 86 resulting in a total score of 167. Katelyn Walker also competed individually, tying for 34th with rounds of 85 and an improved second-round score of 84.

The Bulldogs are set to host their own Bulldog Fall Invite on Monday at Katke Golf Course, starting at approximately half-past nine in the morning Eastern Time.
