The Ferris State University men's tennis team wrapped up their participation on Monday, September 30, at the 2024 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional Championships. The event was hosted by Davenport University.
FSU freshman Milo Leuenberger claimed victory in both the main C draw singles championship and the main C draw doubles championship alongside fellow freshman Pi Wellington during the final day of competition.
Additionally, Bulldogs' players Kevin Kovacs and Felipe Iser secured the A back draw championship. Over the weekend, Ferris State was one of only four schools among 23 competing institutions to advance four players in the top A singles draw. Each player achieved a first-round win, including Kovacs who defeated the #16 seed in his opening match.
"I'm really happy with our overall results this weekend," said FSU head coach Mark Doren. "We didn't look like the young team we are. Many of the underclassmen fought like upperclassmen and that's all I can ask for."
"We are done competing for the fall so now we focus on the things we need to work on to get ready for our spring championship season," he added.
